# Towel Drop Videos

Hook-and-reveal vertical shorts. The format in one sentence: **the towel is the trigger, the payoff is what the towel was hiding.**

Default deliverable: **a 15-second, three-beat, 9:16 cut that ends on the reveal frame.** The reveal is the last thing the viewer sees — there is no reaction beat, no CTA, no logo card unless the user asks for one.

## When to use

- The user wants a towel-drop reveal / "hack" / satisfying-transformation short.
- The user uploaded a photo and wants *that* person to be the subject of every clip.
- The user wants a different reveal variant (clean-wipe, hidden object, room swap, product, letterbox reveal, transformation).
- The user wants a different **camera angle** (eye level, low, high, side, close-up) — see the framing-angle table below.
- The user wants to redo just the **hook**, just **one beat**, or just the **final mix**.

Do not use for general editing of uploaded footage, or for magic-trick tutorials (different structure). If the user hands you an existing video and asks to *analyze* it, use `recognize_video` as analysis, not as a re-generation.

## Reference files

Read on demand — do not load all four in one turn.

| File | Read it when |
|---|---|
| `references/reveal-formats.md` | Picking the reveal variant and its beat-by-beat staging, camera language, and lighting. Read before step 3. |
| `references/prompt-library.md` | Writing any image, video, voiceover, or music prompt. Read before step 4. |
| `references/quality-control.md` | Running the QC gates between stages, and diagnosing a bad still, clip, or final cut. Read before step 9. |
| `references/beat-sheet-template.md` | Writing the beat sheet document. Read at step 3. |

## Format model

Three beats, always this shape. The timings are guidance for the shot, not a hard constraint of the model.

| # | Beat | Target | What must be true |
|---|------|--------|------------------|
| 1 | Hook | ~4s | Subject and problem both legible in the first frame. The viewer can tell what is about to be fixed, hidden, or swapped. |
| 2 | The drop | ~5s | The towel descends and makes contact with the surface. This is the event; it must not be skipped. |
| 3 | Reveal | ~6s | The towel lifts or wipes away and the payoff is fully in focus. **The cut ends on this frame.** |

Two hard rules:
1. **Never cut the drop.** Beat 2 is what the viewer is waiting for.
2. **The reveal must be the same camera setup as the hook**, so the change reads as a change. A different camera angle makes the payoff look like a different video.

If the user wants more than 15 seconds, add a fourth **payoff** beat (staged per `references/reveal-formats.md`) — never by stretching beat 3 into a slow crawl.

## Camera angle (choose one per video)

The angle is part of the shared camera-lock clause and must be identical across all three stills and all three clips. Swap the clause for the whole set, never per beat.

| Angle | Framing | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| `standard` | eye level, medium shot | default hook-and-reveal |
| `low` | below hip height, tilted up | confident, floor-level reveals |
| `high` | above head height, tilted down | soft editorial reveal |
| `side` | three-quarter profile | intimate, cinematic feel |
| `close` | tight on the subject or the action | detail-led, texture and hands |
| `overhead` | top-down on the surface | clean-wipe on a table or floor |

Exact prompt clauses for each angle live in `references/prompt-library.md` and `references/reveal-formats.md`.

## Steps

Use `write_todos` before step 1 and update the full list as stages complete. Keep exactly one item `in_progress`.
