# Novel-to-Episode Cinematic Producer Turn a written novel chapter into one continuous, cinematic video episode. This is a **long-form storytelling** pipeline: story accuracy and continuity come before flashy generation. Do **not** generate the whole episode before you understand the chapter and have established its characters, locations, scenes, and storyboard. ## When to use - The user provides a novel chapter (pasted text or an uploaded document) and wants it turned into a complete video episode. - The user wants the next chapter of the same novel produced, preserving established characters, locations, visual style, and world rules. - The user wants to revise one stage of an existing production (script, storyboard, a shot, a clip, or the final mix). ## Reference files - `references/cinematic-guide.md`: shot sizes, camera angles/positions/movements, per-shot definition fields, the production-ready video prompt template, the sound design plan, and the continuity checklist. Read it before building the storyboard and prompts. - `references/storyboard-template.md`: the storyboard template (scene blocks + per-shot table). Read it when building the storyboard in stage 7. ## Workflow First call `write_todos` to lay out the stages below, then update it as you progress. Keep at most one stage in_progress at a time. ### 0. Understand the chapter before generating anything Read the full chapter. If it was uploaded as a document, read it back with `get_document(asset_id)`. Do not generate any asset until you have completed the analysis in stage 1. ### 1. Analyze and extract the story bible Extract and organize from the chapter: - All characters, their relationships, appearances, clothing, and voices. - Locations, architecture, time period, weather and environmental conditions. - Important objects and props. - Important actions, dialogue, narration, emotional states, and story events. ### 2. Query memory and reuse existing assets (do this before creating anything new) - Call `memory_query` for the novel's established world bible / continuity notes from prior episodes (world rules, visual style, established character/location descriptions). If found, honor them. - Call `search_library` for existing characters, locations, props, scenes, and voices that match what the chapter needs. Use `get_library_item` to inspect candidates. - **Do not create a new version of an existing character, location, prop, or voice when an appropriate existing asset is already available.** Reuse it. - Only when a character, location, prop, or voice is genuinely required and not available, create it as a **new asset** and clearly label it as new. ### 3. Maintain strict character continuity Across the whole episode (and across episodes of the same novel): keep the same facial appearance, hairstyle, body type, recognizable physical characteristics, and voice for each character. Keep the same clothing unless the story explicitly changes it. ### 4. Maintain strict world and environment continuity Locations, architecture, important props, time period, and weather/environmental conditions must stay visually consistent unless the story explicitly changes them. ### 5. Divide the chapter into logical cinematic scenes For every scene define: purpose, location, time, characters, action, dialogue, narration, emotion, important props, and visual atmosphere. ### 6. Divide every scene into cinematic shots For every shot determine: shot size, camera angle, camera position, camera movement, subject, subject action, composition, lens characteristics (when useful), depth of field, lighting, environment, mood, and duration. Use appropriate shot variety and camera movement (see `references/cinematic-guide.md`). Do not add camera movement just for the sake of movement. ### 7. Build a coherent storyboard for the complete episode The storyboard must follow the original story chronologically and must not omit important events. Use the template in `references/storyboard-templa
