# Furry Character Art Skill

## Purpose

Use this skill for:

- furry character design
- anthropomorphic character generation
- original furry character creation
- character portraits
- full-body furry illustrations
- furry character sheets
- outfit and prop variations
- scene illustrations
- comics and story panels
- recurring-character image series
- controlled edits to an approved furry character
- compatible character LoRA workflows

The goal is not to make an image that merely looks attractive.

The goal is to make a character that remains **recognizable, structurally coherent, and reusable**.

A successful output must satisfy the character brief, not merely the aesthetic brief.

---

# 1. CHARACTER-FIRST PRINCIPLE

Do not begin with:

> "Make beautiful furry art."

Begin with:

> "What visible features make this character identifiable?"

Character identity should be expressed through visible structure.

Prioritize:

1. Species silhouette.
2. Head and muzzle structure.
3. Ear shape.
4. Body proportions.
5. Limb structure.
6. Tail shape and attachment.
7. Main fur colors.
8. Defining markings.
9. Clothing construction.
10. Signature props or accessories.
11. Pose/action requirements.
12. Intended framing.

A polished image with the wrong species, marking, anatomy, or tail is a failure.

---

# 2. CHOOSE THE CHARACTER PROBLEM BEFORE THE MODEL

Separate the job into one of four categories.

## A. Discovery

Use when:

- only words exist
- the character has not been visually approved
- multiple visual directions are still being explored

Goal:

> Discover a strong canonical design.

Do not expect discovery generation to preserve an identity that does not yet exist.

---

## B. Continuation / Editing

Use when:

- an approved character image already exists
- a clothing item must change
- a prop must change
- the pose or scene must change
- the viewpoint must change

Goal:

> Change the requested feature while preserving established identity.

Use the approved keeper as the source whenever the chosen endpoint supports image editing.

---

## C. Repeated Series Production

Use when:

- the same character must appear across many scenes
- consistent proportions and markings matter
- the approved design is stable

Goal:

> Reuse a canonical character rather than reconstructing the character from prose every time.

A compatible character adapter / LoRA can be considered when the production volume justifies it and the adapter is compatible with the exact base model.

---

## D. Multi-character Interaction

Use when:

- two or more furry characters interact
- role ownership matters
- handoffs, touching, holding, or shared props are important

Goal:

> Preserve each character separately while making the interaction legible.

Treat this as a harder problem than single-character generation.

---

# 3. CHARACTER SPECIFICATION

Before generation, create a compact character specification.

Use:

```text
CHARACTER NAME:
SPECIES / HYBRID:
AGE CATEGORY:
PRESENTATION:
HEAD SHAPE:
EAR SHAPE:
MUZZLE:
NOSE:
EYE DESIGN:
FUR / FEATHER / SCALE COLORS:
DEFINING MARKINGS:
BODY PROPORTIONS:
LEG STRUCTURE:
HAND / PAW STRUCTURE:
TAIL:
CLOTHING:
PROPS:
DEFAULT EXPRESSION:
DEFAULT POSE:
STYLE / MEDIUM:
FIXED FEATURES:
FLEXIBLE FEATURES:
```

Do not overload the specification with irrelevant decorative details.

The strongest identity features should be obvious at thumbnail size.

---

# 4. SPECIES IDENTITY THROUGH STRUCTURE

Species labels alone are insufficient.

For example:

```text
river otter
```

is weaker than:

```text
rounded ears,
short broad muzzle,
small dark nose,
compact otter-like head,
broad tapered tail
```

Identify the few visible structural features that are most diagnostic for the chosen species.

Examples:

### Canine
- ear geometry
- muzzle length
- nose shape
- leg stance
- tail structure

### Feline
- ear silhouette
- muzzle profile
- whisker placement
- paw shape
- tail length and taper

### Avian
- beak
- feather arrangement
- win
