# Micro Drama Animation Engine

## When to use
Use when the user wants a 30-second needle-felted stop-motion micro-drama (vertical 9:16 or horizontal 16:9) from a one-liner, story idea, or reference character images — the full pipeline from cast/story/script to character sheets, storyboard, one continuous video, and thumbnails. Also use when they want to redo a stage or run a new cast/story.

## Reference files
Read the relevant file with read_skill_file as needed — don't read everything at once.
- `references/master-style.md`: Master Style String + drift check + standing rules. Read before any generation.
- `references/story-and-dialogue.md`: Six loglines + dialogue rules + character diversity rule. Read at Stages 1–2.
- `references/stage-templates.md`: All ready-to-run prompt templates (character sheets, storyboard, video, thumbnails). Read the relevant section before each stage.
- `references/checklist.md`: Production checklist. Track against it.

## Steps
Follow the stages in order. Each stage ends with a pause question — do not move to the next stage until the user answers. First use write_todos to list the 9 stages and update as you progress.

### Stage 1 — Cast species
Ask the user what the cast should be (sheep recommended, goats, highland cattle, foxes, rabbits, hedgehogs, or humans) and whether they have reference character images. If reference images are supplied, lock them in exactly as described. Apply the Character Diversity Rule. Lock the cast. PAUSE for the answer.

### Stage 2 — Story concept
Pick one of the six loglines or the user's own idea. Adapt it to the private-confrontation-then-public-escalation structure and the single continuous 30-second runtime. Apply the four dialogue rules. Lock the story. PAUSE.

### Stage 3 — Frame orientation
Ask 9:16 (vertical, short-form) or 16:9 (horizontal, long-form). Lock it; it must be stated explicitly in the storyboard and video prompts, never implied. PAUSE.

### Stage 4 — Character concept pitches
Propose a short concept for each of the three leads plus one elder/authority figure (name, species, role, one-two sentence hook). The two leads sharing the most frame-time must be instantly separable in silhouette and colour. All standing upright. Get approval before Stage 5. PAUSE.

### Stage 5 — Character sheets
For each approved lead, write the full Character Reference Sheet in prose, then generate ONE single turnaround image (all four views in one frame). Generate one chest-up portrait each for the elder and for background extras. Use the templates in references/stage-templates.md. Call generate_image with model='t2i' (or model='i2i' if reference images are supplied), orientation='portrait' (or 'landscape' to match Stage 3), name=<character name>, entity_type='characters'. Get approval per sheet; regenerate only rejected ones. PAUSE.

### Stage 6 — Scene guide
Write the full 30-second, ~18–21-line script as a timed table (in/out timings · speaker · line). Mark the deliberate long line, any held silent reaction beat, the location-change moment, and the closing line. Save it with create_document (name='Scene Guide', entity_type='scripts'). Get confirmation (as-is / longer / shorter / reworded). PAUSE.

### Stage 7 — Storyboard
Build the storyboard image prompt per the template in references/stage-templates.md (frame orientation explicit, style lock, full character sheets word-for-word, environment descriptions, 4–6 panels, consistency instruction, negative prompt). Generate TWO variations with generate_image (model='t2i.hd', orientation matching Stage 3, resolution='1080P', name='Storyboard', entity_type='storyboard_images'). Pick the stronger one. Run recognize_image on the chosen storyboard to QC it (characters match their locked sheets, all standing upright, no style drift) before proceeding. Wait for the user to type 'next'. STOP.

### Stage 8 — One continuous video
Only proceed when the user types 'next'. Build the video prompt per the template in references/stage-
