# Checkerboard Image

Create one image in which colour, material and light are unified by a single visual idea: the **black-and-white checkerboard**. The checkerboard is not a decorative prop — it is the whole set (wall + floor) and the whole palette. The subject is the only element allowed a saturated colour.

Detailed style bible, exact prompt template and variation knobs: `references/checkerboard-style.md`.

## When to use

- The user asks for an image "in checkerboard style", "on a checkerboard background", "mod / pop-art checkered set", or attaches a checkerboard reference and wants the same look.
- The user wants a portrait, fashion shot, product shot or poster of anything staged on the black-and-white checkered wall + floor.
- The user asks for a variation, colour swap, different pose or a tighter/wider framing of a checkerboard image already produced in this conversation.

## Steps

1. **Extract four slots from the request** before writing anything:
   - `SUBJECT` — the thing being photographed (person, product, animal, character…). If the user names none, default to a single fashion model, adult, full body.
   - `POSE / ACTION` — e.g. standing with hand on hip, wide stance, walking toward camera, sitting on the floor. Default: standing centred, weight on one leg, one hand on the hip, chin slightly down, direct gaze into the lens.
   - `ACCENT` — the **one** saturated colour the subject wears or holds. Default candy red patent leather (`#C0121A`), as in the reference image. The background must stay strictly monochrome.
   - `ORIENTATION` — `square` (default, matches the reference 1:1 framing), `portrait` when the user wants the full figure with headroom, `landscape` only when the user explicitly asks for a wide set.
2. **Read `references/checkerboard-style.md` once** at the start of the session (use `read_skill_file`) and reuse it: it contains the grid geometry, hex palette, lighting recipe, the verbatim prompt template and the avoid-list. Do not re-read it for every image.
3. **Write the prompt in English**, always, following the template in the reference file. Minimum content of every prompt: checkerboard wall behind + checkerboard floor below in the same black/white scheme, glossy vinyl material with soft specular sheen and thin seam lines, one accent colour in high-gloss patent leather, hard frontal studio strobe with a crisp cast shadow thrown to one side across the checks, 85 mm slight low angle, sharp focus, editorial colour grade.
4. **Call `generate_image`:**
   - Text to image (no reference supplied): `generate_image(prompt=<assembled English prompt>, model='t2i', orientation=<ORIENTATION>, name=<short English title, e.g. "checkerboard-red-patent-model">, entity_type='checkerboard_images')`.
   - High-detail / finer checker grid requested: same call with `model='t2i.hd'`.
   - The user supplies a reference image whose subject or composition must be kept: `model='i2i'`, `input_urls=[<asset_id / s3:// uri of the reference or of a previous result>]`, and describe only the intended change.
   - Leave `resolution` unset unless the user asks for print/poster quality (then `resolution='1080P'`). Never pass pixel `width`/`height`.
5. **Iterate on request.** For a changed pose, accent colour or grid scale, re-run `t2i` with the edited prompt. To keep an already-approved composition and change only one thing (colour, material, small pose tweak), re-run `i2i` with the previous result in `input_urls`. Never silently change SUBJECT or ACCENT the user did not ask to change.
6. **On failure** (`success=false`): report the error plainly and do not describe an image that was not produced, and never fabricate a URL.
7. **Reply in the user's language** with one or two sentences describing what was generated (subject, accent colour, framing). The image lands on the canvas automatically — do not paste URLs.

## Notes

- **Prompt language: always English.** Even when the user writes in Chinese, the `prompt` argument stays English;
